TeenageTells- Anniversary

  • 2 min read

Today marks one year of Amethyst- Time And Time Again. What a beautiful year it has been. In that time, I've sold over 500 copies of the book, written book two, appeared on the radio twice, participated in literary events, published a poem, and started the TeenageTells blog. I would like to thank anyone who purchased my book, critiqued the second edition, encouraged me, or visited my website. Everything helps so much, and all my achievements wouldn't be a reality if not for you.

So much has happened this past year, and I wanted to celebrate with you, my readers, the reason this whole journey has been possible. I struggled to figure out how to celebrate. I was toying with ideas, but none of them felt right or were even possible. So, I decided to share a poem with you and release the first part of my comprehensive writing guide. Along with that, the comprehensive writing guide will be available as a cohesive print-out booklet, with some bonus questions, inspiration and practice work. At the end of this post, there will be links to my book (which is wonderfully low-priced right now), the anthology I was a part of, my comprehensive writing guide, and the booklet.

THE POEM:

I left messages for my future self.

Now I am my future self.

Twelve months have passed since the release of my book.

Home has been discovered through my poetry.

Even the ‘impossible’ has been done.

For me, a teen, that’s a real achievement, but I’m not done yet.

Underdogs around the world, I want to help you.

Teenagetales will be our mismatched home.

Unfortunately, no one lives here yet.

Realising my dream isn’t so easy.

Every week I write, though.

Whether it’s tomorrow or in two decades, I will help.

Every teen writer will achieve their dream.

Right now, you may feel alone, or hopeless.

It’ll be better soon. Dreams do come true.

Soon you’ll have everything you crave.

Each book, we’ll be closer.

Thank you for your support.
